Shah Faisal Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world is located on the northern edge of the capital city of Islamabad with the Margalla Hills as a back drop. It was built in 1634 by Hakim Ali-ud-din, popularly known as Wazir Khan, who was governor of the area during the reign of Shah Jahan. Golden Mosque is a remarkably beautiful mosque with three golden domes. The mosque is elevated on a higher plinth, surrounded by old bazaars.
It has a beautiful gate-way which measures 21.33 metres in length and a courtyard that measures 161.5 x 160.6 metres and is said to be the largest mosque courtyard in the world for outdoor prayers. Mahabbat Khan Mosque:

Mahabbat Khan Mosque is another example of magnificent Mughal architecture. A narrow gateway sandwiched between jewelry shops leads to the Mosque. The interior is beautifully colored with floral patterns and geometric designs. The prayer hall is sheltered beneath three domes with two minarets as borders, a show of redolent classic Mughal style. The mosque was named after Mahabbat Khan who was the governor that served under both Shah Jahan and Auragzeb in the 1670s.

Dai Mosuqe is another spectacular piece of archietcure built in the Mughar era. The design of the mosque is based on a single-aisle 3-bay plan form—a comparatively simplified version of the spectacular mosques built by the Mughals. The prayer chamber is divided into three compartments by means of lateral arches. The central bay, larger than the others, has exceptionally rich decoration. The usual arched recess sunk deeply into the western wall serves as the mihrab. It is crowned, like its flanking counterparts, with a high double dome placed on squinches composed of eight small arched panels. embellished with tiled pane.

Pearl Mosque:

Pearl Mosque, otherwise known as Moti Mosque, was completed in 1659 and is located within the famous Lahore Fort in the city of Lahore. The famous Taj Mahal, one of the top 7 wonders of the world, and the famous Diwan-e-Khas, which overlooks the Ravi, in Pakistan, was constructed by Shah Jahn, and the Pearl Mosque is just another feather in his hat. Adjacent to Pearl Mosque is where you can see this world renowned architect’s sleeping chamber that is today open for pubic viewing. Within the same complex, beyond the audience hall, is an exclusive place that was once reserved for only royal ladies.
