The most popular hill station in Pakistan is Murree, at an elevation of 7,500 feet, it is only an hour drive from Islamabad along a good quality, winding alpine road. Ghora Gali is a tourist mountain resort town located at an elevation of 5,000 feet on the northeastern tip of Punjab province and close to Nathia Gali and Murree.

Ghora Gali features an 1,100 m long chairlift that goes from Ghora Gali to Pindi Point. TDCP offers a tourist stopover that is situated amidst the picturesque surroundings of Ghara Gali, and is a popular and highly recommended short stay destination. Ayubia:

The Ayubia National Park is a forest located with the majestic Murree Hills. Wildlife is abundant here and not only is it a refuge to leopards and black bear but is a wonderful place for bird watching. The park is on a migratory path for many species, and has the largest Koklass and rare Kalij pheasant population known in Pakistan. A wide range of birds live in the forest such as the Golden eagle, Honey buzzard, griffon vulture, Indian sparrow hawk, Peregrine falcon, Kestrel, hill pigeons and doves. In addition many other mammals, large and small find shelter with the pine forest such as the red flying squirrel, masked civet and Rhesus Macaque, Himalayan palm civet, and the Kashmir Hill fox.

Daman-e-Koh:

Daman means center and Koh means hill. In the Margalla Hills north of Islamabad there is Daman-e-Koh (the center of the mountain). It is very short drive from the city only 15 to 20 minutes from Islamabad but when you reach there you will feel you are deep in the woods. Visitors can travel up the hill to the center of the mountain and see the forest below, as well as the whole of Islamabad.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) upgraded the restaurant and introduced electric powered cars that provide tourists with a relaxing and enjoyable transport to and from the parking areas.The south side has a panoramic view of Islamabad, the Faisal Mosque, as well as Rawal Lake, and Rawawlpindi in the far distance. From this vantage point it is easy to see how modern and organized Islamabad is with its green fairways and straight streets.
Pir Sohawa further up the mountain has fine dining serving breakfast, lunch and dinners.
An enjoyable hiking path connects the zoo park located at the base of Margalla Hills to Daman-e-Koh with an information board providing basic information about Islamabad.

Chitral located in the North west of Pakistan is a beautiful valley in the Hindukush range of Mountains. Hunza :

Hunza is nestled in a valley surrounded by snow covered peaks, over 7000 feet in altitude. This is the first town you will enter coming from China on the Karakoram Highway. Here you can view Rakaposhi where there is a PTDC motel and several small hotels.

The famous Karakoram Highway crosses Hunza, connecting Pakistan to China via the Khunjerab Pass. Travelling up the valley from the south, Hunza is the land to the left, and the former state of Nagar to the right of the Hunza River. Regular bus and van services operate between Gilgit and Central Hunza (Ganish Village, Aliabad and Karimabad) and also between Gilgit and Sost Gojal. Gilgit is one of two major focal points for mountaineering expeditions. It is from Gilgit that climbers either venture to Karakoram or the Himalaya mountains.
Attractions
Gilgit has a snow skiing resort. Chair lifts take skiers to the mountain heights. Guides are available for novice and experts alike and snow clearing equipment simplifies parking access. The resort has modern facilities and the finest amenities. Gilgit is a great place to purchase a large variety of semiprecious stones from the areas mountain mines.
Kalash :

Gorgeous Kalash, is located in the magnificent mountains of the Hindukush, and forms the northwest borders between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Some of the world’s most spectacular mountains surround Kalash to include; Tirich Mir, at an altitude of 7708m,with glacier treks to explore, Noshaq, 7492m, Istoro Nal, 7403m and Saragrar,7338m. The lowest pass to this area is Lowari Top, which is over 10,000 feet in attitude!
It seems that when Alexander occupied this area some of his army along with their families stayed on after he and the others picked up and left. It’s not surprising when you look at the surroundings. The people are described as warm and friendly like the mountains that they live in.

Garam Chashma :

Garam is a fantastic place to visit, and a must see and is located near Chitral. It has a rapid moving white water river with a small rugged wooden bridge, so both sides can be explored. There are some small hills that look like mountain miniatures, a great place for the kids and family members to try their rock climbing or mountaineering skills. Be sure to bring your fishing pole, here is the some of the best trout angling in Pakistan!

The valley extends 155 km rising from an elevation of 2,134 m to its highest point, Babusar Pass, at an elevations of 4,173 m

Fort Munro:

Apart from northern hilly areas, Pakistan also has some scenic and popular mountain areas in other parts of the country. Fort Munro lies on the Quetta Road at 85 km from Dera Ghazi Khan.It is the only hill station in southern Punjab in the Sulaiman Mountains Range. Its altitude is 1800 meters and attracts many people for short stays during the summer.

There are more than 100 peaks over 7,000 meters (23,000 feet) are within a radius of 180 kilometers. The statistics are amazing. The K2 (8,611 meters) is the second highest on Planet Earth and is situated in the Karakoram. The five above 8,000 meter peaks out of the World's fourteen (14) 8,000 meter peaks are in Pakistan. Peaks above 3,000 to 6,000 meters are countless and remain unclimbed and unnamed. Out of 100 highest peaks in the world, more than 50 are in Pakistan.
